When you meet Taylor and Colin, you may think they were born in the wrong decade. They both have a peaceful, easy energy that makes them fun to be around and harkens back to the 1970s. They love listening to records, making craft cocktails and hanging at home with their cat, Hazel. But above all, T+C adore their family and friends and wanted to prioritize their involvement in the day that marks the rest of their lives together.

Taylor and Colin’s wedding was true to them – playful, bright, groovy. From the multi-hued bridesmaid dresses, to Colin’s custom Indochino suit,

to the blooms, to the lambeth-style wedding cake with rainbow buttercream, their mantra of “You Make Loving Fun” was felt throughout the day. One of the sweetest moments came when the bridesmaids and moms opened letters written to them. They assumed the letters were written by Taylor, but in fact, came from Colin. Such a thoughtful and unique surprise.

Both ceremony and reception took place at Capulet in the Bywater – a restored 1800’s warehouse with 30-foot high pitched wooden ceilings, floor to ceiling windows, exposed brick walls and industrial-chic accents. While the original plan was to host the ceremony on the roof deck, the weather had other plans. Rather than take a chance on the rain in New Orleans in June (not a good idea), they decided to move the entire party inside the main dining room. Although larger in square footage than the roof deck , the processional from the mezzanine, surrounded by their nearest and dearest, felt intimate and unique. T+C’s dear friend, Blake Gautreau, officiated the nuptials. Blake and his wife, Mattie, own Acadian Estates & Custom, a bespoke jeweler in Lafayette, Louisiana. Of course, they also curated Colin and Taylor’s rings.

For the reception, T+C treated their guests to good food, drinks and music. Capulet’s Chef Pony created a custom menu and signature cocktails, while signage of Hazel the Cat decorated the bar. DJ Lance of P2 Entertainment packed the dance floor and color-changing uplighting created a vibe. The reception ended with a bubble exit, but the party continued into the night on Frenchman Street.
