12 New Orleans Courtyard Wedding Venues

My favorite place to be in New Orleans is a courtyard. I’m the nosey person strolling down the streets, peaking behind gates at all the beautiful hidden courtyards. And there are lots of gorgeous venues available for weddings.

If you want your guests to get the “feeling of New Orleans”, then you can’t go wrong with a New Orleans Courtyard. These are our favorite New Orleans’ Style Courtyard Wedding Venues, in no particular order! If you want a more comprehensive list, check out our Venue List Page!

1. New Orleans Pharmacy Museum

The New Orleans Pharmacy Museum is in the heart of the French Quarter, just down the street from the Cathedral. The 2200 sq. ft. courtyard is the main event space. It can seat up to 130 guests with a center aisle for a wedding ceremony. It accommodates 150 guests for a cocktail reception or 70 guests for a seated dinner. Other than tenting, there is no covered rain plan space at this venue.

2. Maison Montegut

Perhaps less well know is the courtyard of the Maison Montegut Museum. Max capacity is 200. We love this courtyard for the lush greenery.

3. Hermann-Grima House

Also in the Heart of the French Quarter is the The Hermann-Grima House. The courtyard can accommodate 150 guests for a ceremony and up to 250 guests for a cocktail style reception. Like the Pharmacy Museum, Hermann-Grima does not have an indoor space available as back up.
But it does have access to another beautiful courtyard that does. Through the back door along the brick wall of the Hermann-Grima is the Broussard’s Restaurant and Courtyard.

4. Broussard’s Restaurant and Courtyard

If you check this place out in mid-March you may even get a chance to see their wisteria in bloom. Many couples host a ceremony at Hermann-Grima, second-line around the corner and celebrate the reception either in the Courtyard and one of the private rooms, or they buy out the entire restaurant. A full buyout of Broussard’s and Hermann-Grima can accommodate 650 guests!

5. Brennan’s

Another favorite restaurant and courtyard combo is Brennan’s, located on Royal Street. You’ll probably recognize it from its pink exterior. The courtyard can accommodate 150 guests reception style. Brennan’s also has indoor space available, our pick is always the Chantelcair (Shan-Tee-Claire) Room.

6. Court of Two Sisters

And one last restaurant courtyard you cannot miss is the Court of Two Sisters, also on Royal Street. At 3,400 square feet it’s the largest courtyard in the French Quarter. With a full restaurant buyout up to 1000 guests can be accommodated. The courtyard alone hosts about 250.

7. St. Ann’s Courtyard

For a smaller guest count, check out the St. Ann’s Courtyard at The Bourbon Orleans Hotel. It can seat up to 40 for a ceremony.

8. The Ritz Carlton – New Orleans

The Ritz Carlton has a courtyard on the Lobby Level that can accommodate 200 for a ceremony.

9. Ursuline Convent Museum

10. The Queen Anne Courtyard

Then there’s the one with the retractable roof! The Queen Anne Courtyard at Hotel Mazarin can accommodate up to 150 guests and has a beautiful fountain in the center.

11. Race and Religious

Plus I want to throw in 2 more courtyards outside of the French Quarter, that you must know about before choosing your venue. Race and Religious and il Mercato, both are located in the lower garden district. They are pretty well published, so I bet you’ve seen them before.
